A modest [[Dwarf|dwarven]] hold carved into the southern flank of the [[The Nordwall Mountains]], home to Clan [[Stonewake]] for some four hundred years. Its gate is a plain arch of grey stone set between two weathered pillars, unremarkable to anyone who doesn't know to look for it. Inside, the halls are narrow and low-ceilinged but warm, lit by iron braziers and lined with the tools and trophies of generations of working dwarves. Clan Stonewake are not wealthy. They mine what the mountain gives them — iron, tin, the occasional seam of something finer — and they trade south for what they can't dig up themselves. Perhaps three hundred dwarves live here. Everyone knows everyone. Warden [[Stennis Stonewake]] rules from a hall no larger than a good tavern, and he prefers it that way.
