The Gattlemist is a [[Dwarf]] mine in western [[The Nordwall Mountains]]. #### The Halls of Gattlemist The halls of this [[Dwarf]] mine are well built, but simple. Large braziers hang from chains with crackling fires, whose smoke is pulled upward though vents. The stonework walls and ceilings are punctuated with large, well carved crystal or glass blocks which glint with the light from the fires ###### The Main Hall The main hall of the [[Dwarf]] mine is cavernous space with tall ceilings. Major crossroads cut through the space from north to south and from east to west. Where the roads meat is a sort of town square with a fall of water pouring from a recess in the celling and pooling into many well carved pools, eventually running down though a grate in the floor. Much of the rest of the hall consists of a kind of business district with shops, public spaces, stalls, taverns and the like. ###### The Ante Hall The Ante hall is the religious center of Gattelmist. Carved out of its eastern and western walls are two temples, lined with statues of [[Dwarf|dwarven]] figures in various poses. - Eastern wall - temple of [[Brynvala, The Gemmother]] - Western wall - temple of [[Morgrantha, The Deep Seer]] ###### Residential Blocks This section of the Mine is not a hall, but instead a warren of tunnels leading to dwarven dwellings, all well kept, but fairly simple. You can smell the cooking of food and hear the sounds of quiet domestic life. ###### Wards Hall This hall is the deepest and most well protected section of the mine, containing the chief centers of governance as well as the living quarters of the Ward of the mine - The Ward is [[Balmar Lothrim]]. ###### Stacks - This is a collection of large and small store halls in which the Dwarves have stocked items such as raw iron, forged items, food, goods, etc. ###### Skyport The skyport is the only naturally lit portion of the mine. Large Iron doors stand rolled open allowing you to see far southward over [[The Etten Forrest]]. Spaced out within this port are 4 sky ships, which float a few feet off of the ground, moored in place by heavy chains. - Price for a trip - 30GP ###### Mine Level These are the actual tunnels and warrens of the mine, the purpose for the whole complex. Here a vast number of tunnels run thought he mountain, linked by iron tracks. The air here is hot and the ceilings are low. You can hear the heavy work of the Dwarves as they work to pull Iron out of the mountain. ## Flavor *The small path you have been following joins up with a larger road which bends gently eastwards and steepens as it takes you higher into the mountains. Occasionally this road crosses gorges via well contracted arching stone bridges or cuts through spurs in airy vaulted tunnels. As evening approaches the rain ceases and you see ahead of you two squat stone towers on either side of the road, fire light emanating from their windows. Beyond them a bridge leaps over a rushing river and terminates at a cliff wall into which is set two large iron doors.* ![[Image - Map - Gattlemist Mide.png]]
